About me

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Bianca, founder and director of Praino Careers.

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a Sociology degree, I had no idea what I wanted to do, but I did know I wanted to experience working and living internationally.  So after some research into my options, I decided to enrol on an intensive English language teaching course and obtained my CELTA and before I knew it, I was  on a plane to South Korea to teach English. I  worked in Seoul for one year and then moved to Hong Kong, where I initially taught English before moving into a student recruitment role.

After four years living in Hong Kong, in 2014, I moved back to

Edinburgh to complete my PGDiploma in Career Guidance and Development and went on to work in various educational settings, including a private international college,  secondary schools and a Scottish university.

Whilst working as a university career consultant, I quickly

identified a gap of providing adequate careers support to international students and graduates, who were unfamiliar with UK recruitment practices and all too often, I witnessed students being unsuccessful time and time again in recruitment cycles, with things that could have been easily avoided, which frustrated me a lot on their behalf.

Praino Careers was borne out of my determination to fill this gap, and  meet the needs of the international student community to ensure they are fully aware of how to approach their career planning and development in the UK and be prepared and equipped with the knowledge they need

to succeed.

My career to date is characterised by working in highly

multicultural environments, where I have made a positive contribution and have a proven track record of supporting the international student community in Scotland to transition from education into a professional role.

Motivating, empowering and raising aspirations of the

international students and graduates is what I am good at and what I will continue to do.

Why me?

  • Have a successful track record of supporting international Tier 4 students and graduates into the UK labour market
